Vladimir Putin on Large Families: Pillars of Russia and Traditional Values

During his speech at the meeting with the winners and participants of the “Family of the Year” and “This is Our Family Thing” contests, Vladimir Putin expressed the opinion that large families are the foundation of society and the state. The President emphasized that important human qualities such as respect for elders, love and care for younger family members, and hard work are instilled in large families. These values, he said, are the basis for both a strong family and for Russia as a whole.

Putin also stated that Russia’s domestic and economic policies are aimed at supporting family values. He expressed hope that state support measures would automatically apply to families, regardless of the number of children.

During his interaction with the contest participants, the President discussed issues related to a unified approach to supporting large families across different regions of the country. He noted that the recently signed decree on large families is aimed at standardizing support throughout Russia.

Putin also announced the start of the Year of the Family in Russia, highlighting the importance of family values and their protection at the state level. He assured that the state would continue to work on strengthening the family, enhancing the prestige of parenthood, and ensuring comprehensive protection of childhood and the implementation of demographic programs.

Putin expressed confidence that traditional values and the peoples’ aspiration for genuine freedom and justice would be a reliable support in the emerging multipolar world. He emphasized that Russia, as a “huge family of families,” is united by common values that make the country stronger and more cohesive. The President assured that any difficulties and challenges can be overcome when such a vast country as Russia is united and cohesive. This unity and solidarity of the peoples of Russia, living in peace and harmony, are key factors that make the country stronger and more stable.
